    Instagram post 2191988087496449437_9320530 For close to five years, my life’s mission each and every moment of the day was to be thinner.⁣
Everything I ate and did was in service of that goal.⁣
⁣
I also didn’t have a diagnosed eating disorder.⁣
⁣
The disordered relationship that I've had with food and my own body is something that I’ve openly shared.⁣
And it’s only in the past year that I’ve started to pull back on this. I’ve had reservations if sharing my story is actually helpful to any of you wonderful women.⁣
⁣
Because my experience is not data or science.⁣
It’s my experience.⁣
I don’t support women working on their relationship to food based on anything that I did/didn’t do.⁣
⁣
I’ve been concerned that as a proud scientist (Nutrition), sharing my personal journey is unprofessional? and potentially harmful?⁣
Serious shit.⁣
And I’m proud to have been worried about it.⁣
Because I care so deeply about women not feeling this way.⁣
⁣
So whilst my own journey to a healthy relationship to food and my body is not yours; nor does it direct how I work with women; its impact can not be ignored.⁣
⁣
It is literally BECAUSE of my journey and my struggles that I care so damn much.⁣
It is in my blood.⁣
It is a visceral reaction for me to hear others struggling with this.⁣
⁣
And now, everything I do in my work is about empowering you to not suffer through this.⁣
To view your body with respect (because it deserves it!).⁣
To view food as neutral, life-giving and one of the simplest pleasures we have.⁣
To also get the hell on with life outside of food and your body - because there is so much more to life.⁣
You are so much more than your body and food choices. ⁣
I want to see you out there living it.⁣
⁣
I want you to be living your best life, supported by your body and nutrition - not run by them.⁣
⁣
